Mr. Jones was born and raised in Greenville, NC. He attended Methodist University and was a member of the basketball team that won the USA South Conference Championship (2008). After basketball, Leland transitioned into coaching as an assistant where he developed a deeper understanding of the game and leadership, winning a State Championship (2019) and now serves as the head coach of the program.

Leland further pursued his education, earning a bachelor’s degree in Sports Studies, which laid a foundation for his coaching philosophy and approach. He also obtained his teaching certification, solidifying his role as an educator and mentor. With a continued focus on expanding his knowledge and expertise, Leland completed a Master’s degree in Sports Management, allowing him to further develop his leadership and business management skills.

With an emphasis on the importance of building positive relationships, Leland actively works to inspire, lead, and serve his community in various capacities.
